Compelling Mobile Apps for Business Webinar

July 23, 2014 Mobility, Data & AI

Applications and mobile devices have changed our lives. Can you leverage web and mobile technologies in the business software application space as well?

Last week my team went to lunch, and on the way to our favorite restaurant near the Progress Morrisville office we spotted a Tesla electric car. The car dominated the lunchtime conversation among the interns, and on the way back, we spotted another, different, Tesla. So the conversation spun back around to these exciting, innovative, and disruptive cars.

Wasn't it just another electric car? I asked. Oh, no! they replied. You can buy the car direct without a dealer. Tesla is pioneering new Supercharger Stations where a Model S can be charged in as little as 20 minutes. And Tesla is making apps that you can download directly to your car. They are going to change everything, they told me.

Technology Has Changed Mobile Apps for Business

Tesla is a company that is leveraging technology to change their business and their industry. In doing so, they could change the way their customers lead their lives. If you could charge an electric car in 20 minutes instead of 20 hours, you might be more likely to replace your gas-powered one. Because such a car would take about as long to "charge up" as it currently does to "fill up" a gas tank. But, as our interns reminded me, it would be "way cooler" to drive.

Now imagine how your software customers lives could change if their business applications were as flexible—as easy to use—and as exciting as consumer-style applications are now.
