Your OpenEdge application is critical to your business. That’s why improving the agility and availability is more important than ever for application modernization, but what do you do when you just don’t have the resources?
More than just saying the Progress team can help your organization, let us tell you a little more about how we can help in our upcoming ask-me-anything and customer panel sessions. During these sessions, the team will talk about how our tools and services for tasks like reporting, migration and database management can assist you with your application modernization and database maintenance.
The talks will be live and feature our OpenEdge product experts and three OpenEdge customers, so it’s a great chance to ask them any questions you might have.
What’s Coming Up?
Join our session on Pro2 for real time reporting and data access on Sept. 9.
Real-time reporting is an integral part of effective data management and any application modernization effort. Get the fast, efficient reporting and analysis you need to thrive in today’s always-on world with OpenEdge Pro2.
In this ask-me-anything session, you’ll learn how Pro2 can help you easily replicate data for OpenEdge, SQL Server or Oracle databases from the team that works day in and day out on customer projects like this. The session will discuss the benefits of using Pro2 to keep OpenEdge and target databases virtually in sync, so you can use your third-party reporting solutions for up-to-date reports and business intelligence.

On Sept. 24 you’ll hear how three of our OpenEdge customers take advantage of our Managed Database Administration (MDBA) service.
In this customer panel discussion lead by our MDBA team, you’ll learn how three OpenEdge customers get peace of mind with the service each having a different use case and needs. They will each share their story as a direct end user, partner and end user of one of our OpenEdge partners.
You’ll hear from:
- Construction Industry Solutions (COINS), the market leader in enterprise software solutions for the construction industry, with over 62,000 users worldwide
- BerkOne, which delivers business process automation solutions and services that empower organizations of all sizes to focus on what makes them great
- Ultratec, a manufacturer of text communications working to make telephone access more convenient and reliable for people with hearing loss
They will share how the MDBA team takes care of database management tasks so they can spend their time on more important projects. I’ve been working a lot lately with the MDBA team and they are so passionate about their work with customers, I can’t wait to hear their stories directly.

Last on the ask-me-anything agenda is using Pro2 for migration, which is always a great discussion topic on Oct. 7.
Maintaining your database is hard when you can’t take it offline to deal with a platform migration. A recent blog post by our host for the session Mike Furgal talked about minimizing planned downtime and a lot of that blog covered migrations. This ask-me-anything session will discuss how you can use Pro2 to migrate platforms with little to no downtime at all. By using replication technology, the downtime window can be as little as an hour to two regardless of the size of the database.
The experts from the OpenEdge Pro2 team will walk you through some common obstacles with database migration and give you the opportunity ask the team your questions.
