One of the main goals of MOVEit Managed File Transfer, and Ipswitch as a whole, has been to help IT teams work more efficiently.
With MOVEit 2018, we wanted to expand on that goal, so we introduced inbound REST APIs for performing administrative tasks in MOVEit Transfer and MOVEit Automation. To help IT teams develop new workflows faster, we also added outbound REST APIs for MOVEit Automation, to easily integrate with third-party applications. PowerShell scripting has also been added to MOVEit Automation.
In this brief video, we're going to cover how to use PowerShell in MOVEit Automation to call out to a REST API to download files from Azure Blob Storage to a local directory. We can do all of this with just 20 lines of scripting.
For a more detailed breakdown of MOVEit Automation's REST APIs and an overview of REST endpoints, check out our docs page. You can also find tons of useful articles on Azure, PowerShell scripting, and more by Adam Bertram on Defrag This, check out his author profile for more.
