An Evolution of the Sitefinity Website of the Year Awards
As technology evolves, so must we. Which is why, after more than a decade, we are retiring the Sitefinity Website of the Year Awards and proudly introducing two new programs—the Digital Experience Project of the Month and the Digital Experience Practitioners of the Year awards.
Why the Change?
As submissions for the Sitefinity Website of the Year Awards came in, we recognized we were seeing far more sophisticated projects than just websites. Portals, complex omnichannel experiences, multilingual sites were all becoming the norm and it became abundantly clear that the name of the awards—“Website of the Year”—wasn’t an accurate representation of the amazing digital experiences our customers and partners were building on Sitefinity.
At the same time, we also realized our current program did not provide us with a mechanism to recognize the people behind the projects, and this felt like a missed opportunity. Sitefinity is a powerful tool, but where the true magic lies with the people who have a vision and the ability to implement it.
Armed with this information, we knew we needed to change more than the name. We needed to create new programs.
Introducing the Digital Experience Project of the Month and Digital Experience Practitioners of the Year Awards
We are so excited to share the two new programs that were born out of the evolution of the Website of the Year Awards—the Digital Experience Project of the Month and the Digital Experience Practitioners of the Year.
The Digital Experience Project of the Month will highlight up to four different Sitefinity projects per month. We will showcase each project through a short description, screenshot and short video. All projects will be shared on our site, showcased as “Digital Experience Project of the Month” winners and amplified through the Progress social channels.
Selection criteria is simple. The project must be built on Sitefinity and exemplify an outstanding digital experience. Winning projects will leverage the technology in a smart way while also delighting the end user.
To submit a project for consideration, you can visit the Digital Experience Project of the Month page.
The Digital Experience Practitioners of the Year will recognize the people behind the exceptional digital experiences powered by Sitefinity. Because we know a digital experience is almost always a cross-functional project we have awards in two categories—Digital Experience Marketer of the Year and Digital Experience Developer of the Year.
Regardless of category, the person nominated must have a responsibility for or connection to a Sitefinity project that has had a significant impact on their business. The judging panel will be comprised of Progress employees and all submissions will be reviewed blindly.
To nominate yourself or someone else for a Practitioner of the Year award, you can visit the Digital Experience Practitioners of the Year page.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you all the amazing projects and people behind the digital experiences built on Sitefinity. Please visit our Sitefinity User Awards page to see past Website of the Year and present Digital Experience Project of the Month and Practitioner of the Year award winners.
