Tor Norbye (Sun Microsystems), Carl Quinn (Google), Dick Wall (New Energy Associates), Joe Nuxoll (Apple) (I worked with Tor, Carl and Joe back at Sun) who run the excellent Java Posse podcast have picked up on some of the recent blog exchanges and conversations on the impact on of LINQ on the Java community at large. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but I'll listen to it on my way back from Tech Ed 2006 on Friday. From our ADO.NET Meetup last night, one of the most interesting aspects that Pablo and Mike Pizzo talked about it is the some of their thinking around how ADO.NET vNext will fit with Service Orientated Architectures. The ability to realize entities contexts across SOA boundaries was discussed as something we will see in future CTPs. The presents the potential of ADO vNext participating as a first class citizen in a SOA pipe-line framework, all with the ability to persist the changes in the entities at any point in the pipeline.
