It can track a wide variety of activities; using an accelerometer and a custom heart rate monitor; it also uses GPS and WiFi in your phone to track how far you've moved. You can track calories burned, the activity you've done (anything at the level of a brisk walk or above); there's somethign that shows your sedentary time and how long you've stood. The Stand ring shows how often you stand. We all know how sitting will be the end of our health.
2:33 PM EST: Apps for the Apple Watch with WatchKit.
At W hotels you can wave your watch to the room door to unlock it, which is AWESOME and coming next year. WatchKit makes for custom notifications. So Twitter for instance will show you images, text, RT/Fav/Dismiss buttons. Nike,BMW, pinterest and more have already created apps.
With the ability to draw images and send them, customer emoji, the ability to tap and have that feeling felt by the receiver.

The face is touch and pressure sensitive. The notification is apparently so subtle that no one else will notice it; raise your wrist and it will pop up on your display.Apple analyzes the text that's coming in and guesses at what you might want to reply. You can accept, decline, dismiss from the watchface. You can also get messages with quick replies.

The face is touch and pressure sensitive.

2:10 PM EST: Digital Crown is the main interface for scrolling. If you and a partner both have an apple watch you can share your heartbeat.
There are four LED lenses. It detects your pulse rate. There's also a gyroscope and accelerometer. It's miniaturizing an entire computer system onto a chip. There's a custom-designed S1 chip that integrates many systems into one chipset.
In Gold, Stainless, Aluminum, and rose gold.

Macy's and Bloomingdales; Duane Reade and Walgreens; Staples; Subway; McDonald's (which is also adding Pay to its drive-thru). Whole Foods is included as well! Lots of applause for that.
"Security is at the core of Pay, but so is privacy. We're not in the business of collecting your data." Apple doesn't know what you bought, where you bought it or any other details about the transaction. The cashier doesn't even see your name.

They expect to replace credit cards, because most others trying to solve the problem did not come from the user's focus. ApplePay will be different.
