Making BPM and BRMS Work Together

Please Note: OpenEdge Business Process Management (BPM) has been retired. For information on OpenEdge, visit our Progress OpenEdge Application Development page.

In the summer of 2013 we shipped the Progress OpenEdge 11.3 release, which had business productivity at its core. The release brought the power of Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Rules Management (BRMS) to the Progress OpenEdge platform. As a backgrounder, we put together a white paper on the synergy of BPM and BRMS and the value that these technologies can bring to business. We’ve also finally gotten around to recording a short, deep-dive technical video demonstrating how OpenEdge BPM and Corticon BRMS work in harmony. In the demo, we explore a simple loan approval business process which spans multiple stakeholders and embodies both automation and human workflow. As the process evolves as part of the continual cycle of business process optimization, we also cover how easy it is to model and deploy changes. Finally, we introduce the power and agility of BRMS by putting Corticon into the mix.

So grab a bite to eat and take a look– we hope you find it useful.

If you haven’t made the move to BPM or BRMS or if you want to assess your current capabilities our new online tool will help provide tailored advice on how to make it work within your organization.
