MarkLogic Wins Di2E Plugfest for DCGS-SOF

In the intelligence space, operating in the Defense Intelligence Information Enterprise (DI2E) community demonstrates technical capability and operational expertise to tackle real-life scenarios.

DI2E Plugfest

Over the summer, the DCGS-SOF MarkLogic team participated in various Mashup exercises hosted by DI2E at 2016 Plugfest… In one such real-life scenario, the team was challenged to create a cloud-based set of services that would ingest pictures and content created on cellular phones which would then be translated, analyzed, summarized and ultimately made searchable by the enterprise. Untrained users started from a blank phone, downloaded the Android application, took pictures, and sent them to the cloud infrastructure for language analytics. The results were organized and saved to MarkLogic where they were indexed and made searchable/discoverable via a global application running on MarkLogic.

The team demonstrated to the DI2E Community sponsors and technology partners that MarkLogic is the platform of choice for complex, multi–model data persistence and delivery at scale from the tactical edge to the cloud. MarkLogic offered search, discovery, and storage services during the exercise.

The DCGS-SOF MarkLogic team executed the scenario within operational boundaries and won the events. Congratulations to Marianne Myers, Brent Perry, Sheila Stewart and Ken McCaleb.
