This year's Asia Pacific Progress User Group Conference is rapidly approaching and there is so much to look forward to! The 2014 APUG Challenge will take place at the Rydges World Square in Sydney, Australia, 3-5 March, 2014 and will be focused on delivering practical and highly valuable content to the people involved in developing, integrating, managing and selling applications using Progress OpenEdge.

Among speakers at the event will be Tom Bascom, Vice President of White Star Software and Paul Petersen, General Manager of Technology at Supercorp Technology Pty Ltd. Tom Bascom has been working with Progress since 1987 and is well-known to the Progess community for his consulting expertise and experience with Progress OpenEdge. Tom is a frequent contributor of technical articles and speaker at Progress Exchange and Progress User Groups. His widely acclaimed and freely downloadable Progress tool set, including the ProTop database monitoring, ReadProbe performance benchmarking, PACE load simulation, and the Highly Parallel Dump and Load Toolkit, is used by Progress Database Administrators (DBAs) around the world.

Paul Petersen is responsible for the research, design and development of Supercorp Technology’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)/Cloud-based products and integrated software services. During his 7 years at Supercorp, Paul has played a leading role in the development of superMate, the premier Self Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) administration solution including moving to an Agile Development methodology. Paul’s passion and focus is on unifying business innovation and software technology advances to provide new service benefits to the Superannuation Industry.
