My first impressions of the full-on Tech Ed experience is that this is an enormous event that is very different from JavaOne. So far are that it certainly has the all the necessary trappings of any developer show, t-shirt giveaways, hundreds of people milling about from session to session and of course stadium size lunch facilities. I sure someone has the statistics out there as to how many lunches are served etc etc? As to sessions, I have so far seen Pablo work is magic at DAT304, Next Generation Data Access in .NET Applications with ADO.NET vNext. There is plenty to talk about from that session, but more on that in a blog later this evening. Too much to get into for the limited time I have now... I should address the t-shirt frenzy that created a near 50 people line by our booth! We have or should I say had, some excellent t-shirts that tout ADO.NET product line. Our promise to any wearers of the t-shirt is that we will give you a $25 AMEX gift card if we spot you on Wednesday, Thursday and for the remainder the conference. So wear those t-shirts! We gave out nearly 500 t-shirts, so we will be looking for you. Lots of people have been emailing me looking for invited for our ADO.NET Meetup tomorrow. If you'd like to come, please come find me at our DataDirect booth 1130 on the main conference floor. You can't miss us as you come in from the main entrance. Lots more blogging on Tech Ed 2006 later....
