Upcoming Webinar: Real-Time SQL Access to Salesforce.com

February 10, 2011 Data Platform

As an application architect or developer who uses JAVA/SQL, a Salesforce.com admin, or even a CIO, maybe you’ve thought about using a cloud-based data source, maybe you haven’t. Either way, you’ve probably been watching the excitement around the concept build to an all-time high – particularly with validation from industry leaders like Salesforce.com with their recent Database.com announcement. With the migration of any traditionally enterprise function to the cloud, there comes a whole new set of challenges. First off, if you’re used to using on-premise systems, you’ve probably developed a skill-set over the years that you’re not willing to throw out the window just to move to the cloud. And we don’t blame you.

Secondly, it’s critical that your enterprise applications connect to your cloud-based database. But how do you make enterprise systems run “business as usual” when such a significant aspect – the database – is in the cloud and everything else is on-premise?

By now if you’re a regular reader of ours, you’ve probably heard the news – Progress DataDirect is currently offering JDBC drivers in beta, and ODBC drivers will follow shortly thereafter, providing easy access to both Salesforce.com and Database.com data, specifically. Stay tuned for more on general availability of JDBC drivers for Salesfore.com. And, in the meantime, join us for a webinar on Thursday, February 17 at 10:30am ET where we’ll discuss ways to tell if a cloud-based database is right for you and hear from beta customer Jinfonet on the key features of the JBDC driver for Salesforce.com used in their JReport solution.

Register for the webinar here.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
