Progress Kinvey Expands Connectivity by Integrating with DataDirect

Kinvey v2

One of the key differentiators of the Progress Kinvey Serverless Backend platform is our ability to help developers connect their apps with enterprise and cloud data sources quickly, and as well as providing sub-second access to 3rd-party data even when the system of record is slow. We have enabled these capabilities via features like RAPID (for no-code configuration to connect to 3rd-party data sources), Flex Services (connect to 3rd-party data sources with low-code Flex SDKs), and Cloud Caching (intelligent data acceleration).

Developers that use Progress Kinvey often tell us that they would like us to expand the list of RAPID services, so that they can connect to many more backend systems without writing any code.

To help developers accelerate data connectivity and pipelining to 3rd-party data sources, Kinvey has released a RAPID service for Progress DataDirect Hybrid Data Pipeline. We now support no-code connectivity to more than 50 data sources and standard protocols including JDBC, ODBC, SOAP, and ADO.NET (in addition to REST, ODATA, RFC, etc. that Kinvey already supports). Apps now connect to Big Data systems like Hadoop, Cassandra, Spark as well as traditional SQL databases like Oracle, IBM DB2, SAP Sybase. Other options include connectivity to SaaS applications like Microsoft Dynamics, Marketo, Eloqua or healthcare data exchanges that support HL7. Kinvey plus DataDirect gives your applications instant access to these systems.
