Video thumbnail45 days to go until Progress Exchange 2014 and our team at Progress DataDirect can’t wait! This year, Progress’ annual partner and customer conference will take place October 6-8 in Orlando, FL. If you attended last year’s event in Boston, you probably remember lots of orange, sparks everywhere and news of significant updates to our Pacific PaaS solution. The focus this year is to demonstrate just how far we’ve progressed (no pun intended) since then! We’ll be talking next generation application development, and all that encompasses – from mobile, to data connectivity, to cloud, and everything in between.

From a DataDirect perspective, here’s what we have on the docket:

Design Previews: hear the latest from DataDirect experts around our newest products and releases – what’s new and what’s on the horizon for data integration and connectivity in Big Data, Enterprise, Mobile, and Cloud environments.

Top data API headaches (and how to handle them): we’ll be discussing key challenges in dealing with data APIs. You’ll not only learn how to access the right data that will help the business transform vital information into actionable insights, but we’ll also be relating data challenges to OpenEdge and Rollbase scenarios, and  how these data API headaches can be triaged and treated with simpler approaches, including cloud-based services and more.

Enable BI, reporting, and ETL integration: find out how OpenAccess can customize data access through the integral business logic of your OpenEdge and SaaS applications, helping to preserve the security and reliability of your data.

MongoDB and Cassandra: hear about new data connectivity to the rising stars of the data world – Mongo and Cassandra – and how DataDirect provides easier and simpler data access. We’ll be hosting breakout sessions around these topics throughout the conference.

Firewall-friendly on-premise data access: connectivity to enterprise data residing behind a firewall does exist! Join us to discuss how.

Check out the full agenda for the event, and register here.

If you can’t make the event in-person, but want to be kept up to date on the happenings, you can follow us @ProgressSW and @DataDirect_News. We’ll be live tweeting sessions and posting from the event in real-time.
