The External Security Administration Manager (ESAM) is a feature available in OpenEdge 12.6 and later versions, including the current OpenEdge 12.8. ESAM empowers system administrators to keep track of the activities allowed to run on the systems they govern.

Independent of OpenEdge installations, ESAM can help you manage governance and security so you can better meet corporate and security requirements. ESAM also provides a service that enables OpenEdge executables/libraries to be used only from registered, secured and trusted locations.
