Sam King
Director
As a founding member of the Veracode team, Sam King served as the Chief Executive Officer of Veracode, a leading provider of application security testing, for over five years and remains a key advisor since passing the baton to her successor in April 2024. She is a recognized expert in cybersecurity, the emerging practice of DevSecOps and business management. Ms. King helped lead the establishment and growth of the application security category, working with industry experts and analysts. As CEO, Ms. King focused on company growth and helping customers achieve their missions through the creation of secure software. Prior to Veracode, she held leadership positions in cybersecurity and technology companies including Verisign and Razorfish. In addition to security and technology, she is also passionate about developing leaders and creating positive work environments that foster creativity and personal growth.
Ms. King received her Master's of Science and Engineering in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland, where she earned the prestigious Charles Babbage Award, awarded to the student with the highest academic achievement in the graduating class.
Ms. King further serves on the Mass STEM Advisory Council which brings together leaders from government and the private sector to advance STEM planning and programming and is a Trustee on the Mass Technology Leadership Council, supporting the growth of the technology sector in Massachusetts.
