Challenge
LARES (Land Registration Systems) is responsible for automating titling for each parcel of land in the Philippines. For more than 15 years, it has used Progress® WhatsUp® Gold to manage and monitor its network of more than 1,000 geographically dispersed servers and 1,000 network devices.
The LARES IT infrastructure is decentralized in that servers, databases and network devices are installed across the country of the Philippines, which spans a total area of 300,000 square kilometers. Monitoring availability, capacity and utilization across its vast network presents many logistical challenges.
The solution provides our IT Operations with a unified single view of the entire decentralized infrastructure across geographically distributed offices. It’s an essential tool for us to maintain smooth operations of the Land Registration Authority.
