Event system: EventHub

Sitefinity CMS event system is a mechanism that lets you subscribe for a number of events raised by the Sitefinity CMS modules, and execute custom code when they fire. There are alternative ways you could achieve the same thing, like custom workflow or ObjectFactory, but all of them are cumbersome and require quite a lot of plumbing code. The event system simplifies listening to events.
This section contains:
  • For developers: IEventService and EventHub
    You can replace the default implementation of the IEventService with a custom one to have a custom publish and subscribe to events pattern.
  • For developers: Work with events
    Use the Event hub to subscribe and unsubscribe to events.
  • For developers: List of events
    In this section, you can find a detailed list of the events exposed by Sitefinity CMS, grouped by the module or feature that exposes them.
  • For developers: Implement custom events
    Apart from Sitefinity CMS default events raised by the built-in modules, you can create your custom events providing hooks to your code. In order to implement a custom event, you need to create an interface, a concrete implementation of the interface and raise the event.
  • For developers: ILoginCompletedEvent
    This interface is implemented by all events which fire after user logged in. The interface is containing information about the login attempt and it's result.
  • For developers: IDataEvent
    The IDataEvent represents a contract for event notification containing minimal information about modified items. If you subscribe to the IDataEvent, it will be thrown on the actions Create, Update, and Delete actions for all content.
