Pass server data to widget designer views

If you need to access data that is not available on the client side, you can pass server data to your designer view client scripts without making service calls.

Instead of rendering hidden input tags or inline scripts inside your razor views you can use the angular service that will store the information for you. It works as a directive applied as a tag.

Use the following example to get current server time:

  1. Add this to the razor template of your view:
  2. Add serverDataModule to the dependencies of the module that defines the controller of the view and resolve serverData inside the controller itself.
    Use the following code:

NOTE: Attribute names are converted to camelCase when stored in serverData. Calling serverData.referesh(); will ensure that the data is gathered from the currently rendered markup.
