Additional text formatting functions

The following formatting options appear in the toolbar of the text editor when you click More formatting options button in the upper-right corner of the editor.

Font Name
(CTRL+SHIFT+F)

Use this button to change the font of text.

  1. Select the text which font you want to change or place the cursor inside a word.
  2. Click the Font Name dropdown box and select the desired font.

The system changes the font of the selected text.

Text in Times New Roman font.

Text in Courier New font

Real font size

Use this button to change the font size of text.

  1. Select the text which size you want to change or place the cursor inside a word.
  2. Click the Real font size dropdown box and select the desired font size.

The system changes the size of the selected text.

Text 10 pixels big

Text 20 pixels big

Foreground Color

Use this button to change the color of the selected text.

Select the text which color you want to change and do one of the following:

  • If the already selected color is the color you want to use, click the letter .
    In this example the already selected color is green.
  • If you want to use different from the already selected color, click the arrow .
    In the dropdown box that appears, click the color which you want to use as text color.

The system colors the text in the selected color.

Background Color

Use this button to change the background color of the selected text.

Select the text which background you want to color and do one of the following:

  • If the already selected color is the color you want to use, click the bucket .
    In this example the already selected color is yellow.
  • If you want to use different from the already selected color, click the arrow .
    In the dropdown box that appears, click the color which you want to use as background.

The system colors the background of the selected color.

SuperScript

Use this button to make the text appear smaller and above the line of text.

  1. Select the text you want to superscript or place the cursor inside a word.
    Usually you do not need to have a space between the normal text and the superscripted text.
  2. Click SuperScript button.
    The system makes the selected text appear smaller and above the line of the normal text.

    Click the button again to switch to normal text typing.

Subscript

Use this button to make the text appear smaller and below the line of text.

  1. Select the text you want to subscript or place the cursor inside a word.
    Usually you do not enter a space between the normal text and the subscripted text.
  2. Click Subscript button.
    The system makes the selected text appear smaller and below the line of the normal text.

    Click the button again to switch to normal text typing.
