Access second level relations for detail items

The detail item object is provided in the ContentDetailViewModel class. It contains all fields and all first level relations of the item.

You can access them by using the Model.Item.GetValue<T> generic method.

EXAMPLE: The Details.News.Default.cshtml file demonstrates how to do so.

For more information about accessing different field types, see Sitefinity GitHub repository >> ASP.NET Core samples.

If you want to fetch and access second level related data items of the detail item object, you must make a query to Sitefinity CMS using the REST SDK and fetch the item alongside its nested related fields.

EXAMPLE: To view the syntax for the fields, see Sitefinity GitHub Repository » Projection of items.

For more information, see REST SDK » The SdkItem class and ISdkItem interface on Sitefinity GitHub repository.
