In Sitefinity CMS, built-in content modules represent specific types of content most commonly used on websites, for example, news, blogs, forms, and so on. The content you create using content modules is reusable, so other users can view, edit, and publish it. Content items are displayed on one or more pages of your website using widgets. Each content module has a widget that is used to display only that specific content type. For example, events are displayed on the website using the Events widget. For more information about using widgets, see Widgets.
Apart from content modules, you also use media modules for the media content you use on your website - images, videos, and documents.
In addition to the standard Sitefinity CMS built-in modules, you can create your own dynamic modules. To do this, you use the Module Builder. For more information, see Dynamic modules.
