Monitoring Agent

Research and Projects resource hero illustration

The monitoring agent is a sophisticated tool designed to automatically perform a wide range of tests in a network environment. Its purpose is to identify, analyze and report on various types of issues related to the availability, performance, functionality and security of endpoint devices and applications. Thanks to its modular architecture, the agent can be easily adapted to specific needs and extended with new tests. The agent includes various active tests that are autonomously run and report results either to a central system or to a user interface. These tests include verifying device availability using methods such as ping or traceroute, measuring performance parameters such as throughput, latency, and jitter, analyzing end-application behavior, and assessing the security state of devices and applications using tests such as port scanning or SSL configuration verification. Tests can be scheduled for periodic execution or run ad hoc, with well-defined parameters that specify the test objectives and expected outputs. During test execution, the agent collects data that is either analyzed locally or sent to a central system for further processing. The results are presented in a form that enables rapid diagnostics and supports decision-making processes to improve the operation and security of the entire IT infrastructure.
