Supporting a new global generation of
women in technology.
Launched in 2019 with the Progress Mary Székely Scholarship for Women in STEM, the Women in STEM Scholarship Series supports women interested in studying computer science, software engineering, IT and/or computer information systems. Since then, we have added the Progress Software Akanksha Scholarship for Women in STEM in India and the Women in Tech Scholarship Program in Bulgaria.
Established in 2019 to honor Progress co-founder Mary Székely (pronounced: “See-kay”), the Progress Software Mary Székely Scholarship for Women in STEM is a $10,000 four-year renewable scholarship for a Massachusetts woman, including those identifying as a woman, who plan to major in computer science, software engineering, IT and/or computer information systems.
Congratulations to our 2024 Mary Székely Scholarship recipients Neidy Merida-Lopez and Emma Normand.
Our Women in Tech scholarship program includes two scholarships worth BGN 3,000 each. Girls in their second, third and fourth years studying computer science, software engineering, informatics, information systems or applied mathematics from accredited universities in Bulgaria are eligible to apply. In addition to the Women in Tech Scholarship, Progress contributes funds to the scholarship program at the American University of Bulgaria (AUBG).
Congratulations to our 2024 Women in Tech Scholarship recipients Violeta Kastreva and Teodora Savcheva. Congratulations also to Blagovesta Blagoeva, a computer science and psychology major, who received the company’s donation to the AUBG scholarship program.
The Progress Software Akanksha Scholarship for Women in STEM in India is a four‐year, $2,000 per-year renewable scholarship to cover tuition, fees and educational expenses for an Indian woman pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer science, software engineering, IT and/or computer information systems. “Akanksha” is a Sanskrit word that translates to “aspire”—which is a state of mind and spirit to seek progress and accomplish challenges with grit.
Congratulations to our 2024 Akanksha Scholarship recipients Prarthana R, Nikita S Raj Kapini and Garnepudi Bhavika.
