Video widget

You use this widget to display a video on your page. The Media field enables you to select and display a video from the existing libraries of your website. In addition, you use this field to upload a video to a library.

After you select a document or a video, the default template lists information about its base properties such as type, size and upload date. You can select another item or edit the properties of the current item. For more information, see Video selector.

You can use the Media field in the frontend, as well as in the backend, for example, on a page, as well as in a widget designer.

PREREQUISITES: You need to upload at least one video.

After you place the Video widget on your page, you must configure it to display a video. To do this, open the widget designer by clicking the Edit button in the upper-right corner of the widget. Next, you either upload a video or select an already uploaded video from your library.

To upload a video:

1. Choose Upload video.
2. Drag and drop the video in the window or click Select video from your computer, browse your computer to find the video you want to upload and click Open.
   You can select and display only one video.

   NOTE: You can upload videos in formats .mp4, .webm, .ogv.

3. If you want to store the video in a library, different than the default one, click Change and choose a location.
4. Optionally, change the Title of the video.
5. Change the categories and the tags which the video is assigned to, by clicking Categories and tags.

6. If you added any custom fields for videos, all created fields are listed after the Categories and tags section.
   For more information about creating custom fields and hiding default fields, see Overview: Custom fields.

   NOTE: Some of the above fields may not be displayed when you upload a video, if the view is modified. For more information, see ???? To modify the view, click Administration » Settings » Advanced » ContentView » VideosBackend » Views » SingleVideoUploadDetailsView » Sections.

7. Click Upload.

   NOTE: If you are using multiple site management and the Libraries module uses data sources from more than one site, you must first choose the source from which you want to display videos or where a video, uploaded from your computer, will be saved.To do this, use the dropdown button in the upper-right corner of the window. 8. Select the aspect ratio and the template.

   NOTE: This is the widget template for the Details view. If you defined multiple views for the widget you can see them here. 

9. To modify more properties of the uploaded video, click Edit all properties. For more information, see Configure the properties of a video.
10. Expand More options section to specify CSS file names and apply additional CSS classes to the Video widget.

To select an already uploaded video:

1. Choose Select video from your computer.
   The system displays recent videos.

   NOTE: You can also search for a video by its name. If you are searching for a video that has language versions, you can enable the option to get search results that include the video, even though it may be in a language different than the one currently selected. 2. In the right side of the window, select the library where the video you want to display is located.
   The system displays all videos and libraries in this library.
   You can display all uploaded videos by clicking All videos. For more information, see Videos.
3. Click the video you want to display.
4. Click Done.
5. To change the selected video, click Change video button and perform Step 2.
6. To edit the video, click Edit all properties.
   The Edit video window opens. Perform procedure Edit videos.
7. Click Settings tab.
8. In the dropdown box, select the Aspect ratio of the video.
9. When you are finished, click Save.
   The Video window closes and the Video widget is configured to display the video you have selected.

   NOTE: If your site is multilingual and the page you are editing is synchronized with another translation, when you edit the widget, the Save to all translations button appears. If you click it, the current widget configuration will be saved to all translations, else, if you click Save, the widget configuration is saves only to the current translation, but the pages are still synchronized. If your pages are synchronized, you can have different widget configurations, but you cannot have different widgets.

In the Advanced settings section, you specify individual properties of the uploaded video:

• DisableCanonicalUrlMetaTag
  Sets a rel="canonical" metatag to videos. For more information, see Locations of content items: Canonical URLs.
• TemplateName
  Select the template you want to use to display videos on the webpage.
