Display, sort, filter, reorder and find videos

Overview

The Videos page displays all created video libraries. To view videos in a library, click it.

Display mode of videos

Videos are stored in libraries. In each library, you can have videos and other libraries. You can toggle the display of videos between list view, thumbnail view, and timeline view.

To open the display settings, on Videos page, click Settings icon (Settings for videos) button.

Then, under View, select one of the following:

  • List
    The libraries and the videos are displayed in a list with details, such as title, file type and size, thumbnail, categories and tags, and upload date.
  • Thumbs
    Libraries and videos are displayed in thumbnails. For library thumbnails, you can see how many videos and libraries they contain. For video thumbnails, you can see their title, size, and file format.
  • Timeline
    Only videos appear, ordered by their upload time. For each video you can see its title, size, and file format.

Sort videos

To display the sorting options, click Filter_items  (Filter videos).
There are the following sorting options:

  • Manually 
    The default sorting option, which displays the manual ordering of users.

  • Last created on top 
    Sorts videos in descending order, according to the time of upload. 
  • Last modified on top 
    Sorts videos in descending order, according to the last time of modification. 
  • By title (A-Z) or By title (Z-A)
    Sorts videos alphabetically ascending or descending.

Filter videos

Filtering lets you refine the list of videos that are displayed. To display the filtering options, click  Filter_items (Filter videos).

  • Filter by language
    To display video translations for a specific language, in the Language dropdown box, select the desired language. 
  • Filter by ownership
    To display video, uploaded only by your user, under Filter videos, click My videos
    To filter videos of another author, click Custom filter » By Author
  • Filter by workflow status
    You can filter videos by their status - for example, Published or Draft

  • Filter by classifications
    To do this, click Custom filter
    You can also filter videos by categories, tags, and custom classifications. If you have added a custom classification field to videos, it appears in the filter options. 
    For more information, see Custom fields.  
  • Filter by date 
    To filter videos by the date they were modified, click Custom filter » By Date modified. 
    The Date range fields appear. 
  • Filter by file extension 
    You can filter videos of particular file format. 
    To do this, click Custom filter » By Extension
  • Filter by translation status 
    Filter videos that are Marked for translation or Sent for translation.

Reorder videos

To reorder the videos in a library, perform the following: 

  1. Select the library you want to reorder.
  2. Expand the Actions button.  
  3. Click Reorder videos.  
  4. Drag and drop videos to reorder them.  
  5. Click Save changes.  

Search for videos and files

To search for a video, use the search field on the top of the Videos page. The search results include videos from the currently open library and its child libraries that contain the search input. To search all videos, navigate to Content » Videos. If you are in a child library, the search does not search its parent libraries.
