How to Install DataDirect Connect ODBC Drivers for Windows

Idaliz Baez walks you through the process of getting started with Progress DataDirect ODBC drivers for Windows.

So, you’ve decided that your data connectivity needs an upgrade. It’s finally time to take advantage of the proven performance of Progress® DataDirect Connect® ODBC drivers. Your next step is to install the appropriate driver and start your trial.

To help get you started, I’ve put together a short video tutorial on just how to install DataDirect drivers. All you need to do is navigate to www.progress.com/odbc on your Windows computer, then follow along with me in the video below.

These instructions are for the DataDirect Connect and Connect XE 64-bit and 32-bit ODBC drivers, including (* indicates 32-bit driver only):

Keep in mind that you will need to install a driver that matches the architecture of the application you are connecting to your database. For example, if you are using a 32-bit application, you will need to use the 32-bit driver even if you are running the 64-bit version of Windows.
