During the deployment of the Sitefinity CMS app, an Azure SQL Database server instance and database are created. The database connection string is kept in the Application settings in Azure portal. Because Sitefinity CMS needs to know explicitly that the database is hosted in Azure, the db type is defined in a special key, which is also kept in Application settings. It is deployed automatically during the Sitefinity CMS web app deployment process.
To view the connection string settings and key, In Azure portal, open your web app page and in the left pane, click Application settings.
You can manage the database with SQL management studio. For more information about the Azure SQL Database service, see SQL Database.
You can export the SQL database from Azure, using procedure Export an Azure SQL database to a BACPAC file.
