IMPORTANT: This version of Sitefinity CMS is out of support and the respective product documentation is no longer maintained and can be outdated. Use the version selector to view a supported product version.
NOTE: Synchronization is performed on a provider level and, if you have shared providers for sites and select a site with shared provider, its items are synchronized for all sites, even though some of them were not selected for synchronization.
EXAMPLE: You have two sites on your source that share one provider for news. If you choose to sync only the News items from Site1, Sitefinity CMS syncs the shared provider for news, therefore, all news items in this provider will be synced, regardless of whether they are displayed on Site1 or Site2.
Only published and scheduled for publishing items are synced. The items on the target server are replaced by the source items that you have chosen for synchronization.
NOTE: If you have upgraded your project, no items are marked for synchronization, unless you republish them.
You can schedule a sync job at any time or schedule recurrent sync.
To schedule the sync at specific date, select one of the following:
To schedule a recurrent sync, choose Custom.
When you schedule a sync the job appears under tab Scheduled tasks.
NOTE: You can configure the number of times and the interval that the system will attempt to sync content, in case there are items that failed to sync. To do this, click Administration » Settings » Advanced » SiteSync.

EXAMPLE: Synchronize multiple sites. The following video demonstrates the site sync procedure in a multisite configuration:
