Custom Products module: Install the module

After you Custom Products module: Implement the module class of the Products module, you need to install the module in Sitefinity CMS backend, so that you can use it in your site.

NOTE: Your Sitefinity CMS application must reference the assembly of the module. For more information, see Custom Products module: Reference the required assemblies.

Install the Products module

To install the Products module in Sitefinity CMS project:

  1. Go to the Sitefinity CMS backend (http://<yoursite>/sitefinity).
  2. In the main menu, click Administration » Settings » Advanced.
  3. In the navigation tree on the left, click System » ApplicationModules.
  4. To register the module, click Create New.
  5. In the Name input field and in the Title input field, enter Products.
  6. In the Type field, enter ProductCatalogSample.ProductsModule.
  7. In the StartupType field, enter OnApplicationStart.
  8. Leave the Version field empty.
  9. To save your changes, click Save changes.

The module is installed the next time Sitefinity CMS is initialized.

Install the Products module in multiple site environment
  1. In Sitefinity CMS backend, open MultisiteManagement.
  2. From the Actions menu of your site, select Configure Modules.
  3. Under THIS SITE HAS, select the Locations checkbox.
  4. Under THIS SITE CAN USE DATA FROM..., change the provider to OpenAccessLocationsDataProvider.
