Environments

Overview

Sitefinity SaaS provides Staging and Production environments to facilitate content management and code development. This way, both the content and code can be tested/previewed prior to promoting to Production. The code changes are first deployed to the Staging environment, where stakeholders verify the project and new functionality is working as expected and will not affect the production website. The content changes should also be made on the Staging environment and then leverage the preconfigured SiteSync functionality to sync content changes to the Production environment.

Production environment

Website visitors can access the public content via the website public URL. The Production environment is configured in a load-balancing setup, deployed in multiple availability zones, ensuring optional performance and high availability. 

Deploying new functionality to Production is done via a preconfigured deployment pipeline available in the Management Portal.

Staging environment

This environment is designed for content editors to create content and sync the content changes to the Production environment (via SiteSync). In addition, the environment can be used by website stakeholders from the customer and partner teams, including business users and technical team members, to validate code and content changes.
