Sitefinity SaaS uses Lucene as the default search service for Sitefinity projects. Lucene offers basic search capabilities and search indexes are generated and stored using Azure Files. You can also use alternative search index generation and storage by configuring an external search service - such as Azure Cognitive Search or Elasticsearch server. The default Lucene search service has unlimited indexes, 2GB of storage per environment, and at least 99.95% availability.
