You manage product types on the Product types page.
NOTE: If you are working in multilingual mode, before creating a product type, you must first choose the language in which you want to create the type. Select the language from Languages dropdown box in the right of the page.

NOTE: When you create a product type that is not shippable, but downloadable, the products of this type will not have the weight field, but will have a field for attaching the files that will be downloaded, when the product is purchased.

NOTE: You can relate product types to any other types such as news, media. Using the Related data, you can relate products to other products. For more information, see Add a Related data custom field.
The fields that you created will appear when creating a product of this type.

NOTE: You cannot delete the General product type and you cannot delete a product type, if you have already created products of this type.
