Service provisioning and license management

Overview

Sitefinity SaaS offers a multi-tenancy architecture, where customers share some of the underlying infrastructure resources. Progress Software utilizes strong tenant isolation security and control capabilities to maintain segregation. Different services and components for each customer subscription (project) are logically isolated using network policies.

After purchasing a Sitefinity SaaS subscription, each customer gets their own dedicated organization. Each Sitefinity SaaS subscription corresponds to a project in the organization. When a customer purchases additional Sitefinity SaaS subscriptions, these are added as extra projects.

Prerequisites

When placing your Sitefinity SaaS order, you must specify the following parameters for your project:

  • Organization name
  • Project name
  • Region
Specify one of the supported regions: EMEA / North America
  • List of emails for users who will be invited
This information enables the Sitefinity SaaS technical team to invite these users when the project is initially set. The invited users will get permissions to invite other users.
  • A range of public IP addresses and/or Site Shield setup
This information enables the Sitefinity SaaS technical team to create an IP whitelist that is granted access to your Sitefinity SaaS environments. The addresses can belong to your organization and any partner organizations that will be working on your project. Alternatively, or in addition to the IP allowlist, Sitefinity SaaS environments can be protected via Site Shield, which allows users to access the environments from any IP, but they will need to authenticate to gain access.

License management

Sitefinity SaaS implements a cloud-native subscription mechanism, where it always keeps up-to-date licensing information. The license data does not have to be maintained, included in the repository, or updated manually.
