Progress recommends that customers proactively plan to upgrade from retired phase products using the Lifecycle policy as a guideline.
Once a product version is retired, Progress will carry no obligation to provide patches, hotfixes, or any other updates for this version. If problems are found using products in the Retired Phase, Progress will whenever possible, work with customers towards an appropriate resolution if their licenses are currently under maintenance. This includes the possibility of a patch or a hotfix solely at the discretion of Progress and for a fee (based on an assessment of the effort required by Progress). However, the availability of knowledge and skills required to resolve issues on Retired Phase products is NOT guaranteed.

The costs associated with upgrading the latest version of Sitefinity is dependent on whether you have a current Sitefinity maintenance contract, along with the current state, content, and complexity of your Sitefinity deployment. In many cases, Progress will recommend a short assessment engagement to understand your current implementation, as well as any complexities with your current platform.

Your current Sitefinity sites will continue to function, however, you will no longer benefit from the improvements in the software as well as receive access to the latest security patches, bug fixes, and updates.
