Sitefinity Desktop Experience

Sitefinity CMS Desktop Application (formerly Sitefinity CMS Lightning) is a light-weight desktop client for Sitefinity CMS. You use it to publish Sitefinity CMS content from your desktop. Sitefinity CMS Desktop Application can be used with both intranet and internet web sites. 

With the current edition of Sitefinity CMS Desktop Application, you can create and edit blogs, blog posts, lists, list items, events, and news items. You can also create and manage libraries and upload files. Sitefinity CMS Desktop Application will follow the workflow that is active on your website. You can insert images from and to Sitefinity CMS libraries and also use tags and categories, created with Sitefinity CMS or create new once and save them in Sitefinity.

• If you created items, such as News, dynamic modules, or pages in Sitefinity CMS Server and these items have related media or related data fields, you can only view the items in Sitefinity CMS Desktop Application. You cannot edit, delete, or save these items.
• If you created recurring events in Sitefinity CMS Server – you can view the events in SItefinity Desktop Application, but cannot edit or delete them.
